Middle Wrestling Results

Congratulations Freeland Middle School Wrestlers.  The Falcons competed in 12 team tournament at Midland Dow on Saturday.  There was a lot of tough competition but the Falcons came out on top with 11 champions and two 2nd places.  The wrestler of the tournament goes out to Anthony Cichowski for pinning his way to a championship. 

Additional Golf Honors

Listed below are additional honors that are girl’s golf team has received for their 2018-19 season. All State Honors 2018 Olivia Pumford – 1st Team All State, see related article on Olivia’s signing. Carrollton HS and Bridgeport HS Have New Admission Policies

Carrollton HS and Bridgeport HS have put new policies in place for admission into their home athletic events –  The policy is as follows – 1) No bags preferred – all bags will be subject to search. 2) Only students from competing schools will be allowed to enter unless they are accompanied by an adult.

Middle School Boys Basketball Tryouts

The 2019 boys middle school basketball season will begin when the students return from their winter break.  Tryouts will begin on January 7th, 2019.  The 7th grade team will begin practice at 2:45 and run until 4:30.  The 8th grade boys will follow with practice from 4:30 to 6:00. 7th Grade Girls Win At Home

The 7th grade girl’s basketball team won last night against Standish with a score of 54-15.  Leading the the way in scoring was Sophia Wellnitz with 14 points.  Paige Kloha and Addie Steffen each had 8 points.  Avery Mantei had 6 points.  The girls are back in action next Monday home against Swan Valley.

8th Grade Girls Suffer First Loss

Freeland 8th grade girls basketball lost their first game of the year 58 – 34 at home against Standish Wednesday night. With the score tied at 9 after the 1st quarter Freeland was unable to keep pace with the visitors scoring only 14 points in the second half.  Freeland looks to get back on track

Middle School Competitive Cheer Tryouts

Tryouts for any 6-8 grade girls interested in Competitive Cheer will be at the HS balcony from 5:30-7:30pm on Wednesday Nov 28th.  Please wear athletic clothing, tennis shoes, and hair up. Remember, anyone who is trying out for the cheer team must have physical on file in the athletic office, or have one with them
