Boys Middle School Wrestling, Coed Middle School Wrestling · Middle School Wrestling at St. Louis Tournament

The Freeland Middle School Wrestlers headed to St. Louis Saturday, to compete in a 12 team tournament.  Many teams across the state participated in the tournament including perennial powerhouse Chippewa Hill’s Warriors, whose high school wrestling team is always in the running for a state title.  The Freeland Falcons proved they are worthy of competing against tough competition by outscoring the Warriors in head to head matches.

It was an outstanding performance by the Falcons who crowned seven champions and 17 medalist.  While each Falcon wrestler shined in their own way, It was 6th grader Gibby Shepard who shined the brightest.  He won 1st place and pinned each of his four opponents.  His quickest pin was in 13 seconds.  Way to go Gibby!
