Falcons News · Varsity Girls Soccer Travels to Garber

Freeland 2   Garber 2

Last night our lady Falcon soccer team headed over to Garber for a match that would mean first place in the league if we came home with a win.  Our girls played very well and fought hard, but only came home with a 2-2 tie.  Scoring on the night was Lydia Back, and Megan Hemgesberg while Lydia also picked up an assist on the night.  Avery Seeburger made 8 saves in goal even stopping a 1 on 1 break away with just minutes remaining.  Defensively Macy Smith, Ally Harvey, Brooke Riffel, Hannah Niederquell, and Larkin Wegner were under the most pressure they have seen all season and remained focused and committed all game to help maintain the tie.  Sydney Herring was a workhorse in midfield winning the ball and distributing throughout the game, while Cat Mueller gave the Garber defense fits running into space and dribbling at defenders.  Fortunately, we will have another crack at Garber on home turf.  The girls will take the field again Thursday night at home Swan Valley.
