Falcons News · Soccer Earns Share of Title

The Freeland Falcons boys soccer came came into Wednesday’s showdown with Frankenmuth tied for 1st in the Tri-Valley East and by the time the final horn sounded that’s where both teams remained after a very exciting 1-1 draw at Falcon Stadium

With the tie both teams earn a equal share of the Tri-Valley East title. After a scoreless first half Frankenmuth took a 1-0 lead about half way thru the second half and the stakes really got bigger for the Falcons as they now had to claw their way back into the contest. Then with under 10 mins to go in game Jacob crook took a pass from the Defense at mid field and raced toward the goal and sent a thru ball perfectly where Senior Taylor Armbruster beat his defender and pulled the goalie out of position then blasted one by the keep to tie the game at 1!
The final 10 mins was all Falcons as they pressed for the goal ahead goal. In the end they couldn’t get another one ending the game at 1
Seniors was the theme of the night as we celebrated our annual Senior Night where at halftime 10 Freeland seniors were honored with a ceremony.
