Falcons News · Cross Country At Final TVC Jamboree

10-8-19

Freeland High School hosted the third and final TVC-East jamboree last night at Stratford Woods Park in Midland.  The girls race was first up. The girls team finished second in the conference behind a very good Frankenmuth team.  Kiera Hansen ran a perfectly executed race plan to finish 1st overall in last nights race which also sealed her individual conference title.  Whitney Farrell followed closely behind with a 3rd place finish collecting first team all-conference honors. Peyton Hansen and Mara Longenecker both finished inside the top 14 each earning second team all-conference honors.  Caitlyn Mieske saved her best conference race for last. She ran tough and positioned herself in the top 14 last night to earn herself all-conference honorable mention honors. Congratulations to Amanda Sanchez and Ainsley Miller who both ran big personal best times.  Congratulations to Madison Dutton on turning in a season best time.

The boys were in a competitive battle with Alma for first place and came up just short.  Finishing a combined total of 9 points outside of first place between the three jamborees.  This is a young group that gained valuable experience this season in the conference – the future is bright!  Congratulations to Braydon Honsinger on claiming the individual championship finishing in 1st place at all three jamborees.  Finishing runner-up with first team all-conference honors was Jacob Wurtzel. Braden Klein ran a personal best time and finished in the top 14 of the conference overall earning second team all-conference honors.  Congratulations to Austin Whyte  and Carter Vasicek who earned all-conference honorable mention honors. Congratulations to Jeremiah Niedzielski on running his season best time.

Both teams will be in competition this Saturday at our home invitational.  The races begin at 9:00am. The meet will be hosted at Stratford Woods Park in Midland.  This is a close opportunity for you to come out and support these awesome athletes! Hope to see you there.
