Freeland played hosts to their conference foes from Alma and walked away with a 3-0 win, bringing their conference record to 2-1 and 19-6 overall.
Alma came out ready to fight for the win trading points with the Falcons until Elli Howard served eight consecutive points with three aces for the run. Behind the serving of Allie Reams’s serving run and Caitlinn Pistro’s nine kills, Freeland closes the door to the set win 25-21.
Set two starts off in a similar manner with the Panthers hanging with the Falcons through 16 points. The Falcons took the lead with two key blocks that slowed down the momentum from Alma to finish the set 25-20.
Set three was a completely different story. Freeland came out on fire behind the serving of Caroline Talaga who tallied eight points and 3 aces to put the Falcons in charge of the match 8-2. Leiya Rybicki took the lead to 22-6 with 5 aces and 6 points and Howard finished the match with an ace for a 25-8 set win.
The team tallied 17 aces with Rybicki and Howard leading the way with 5 and 4 respectively. Pistro lead the team with a double-double of 16 kills and 10 digs. Reams lead the team with 11 digs and Mady Rappley and Howard had 4 kills each.
The Falcons are off this weekend for homecoming and will be back on the court Wednesday at conference rival Swan Valley.
