Freeland played host to their fourth quad match tonight hosting Saginaw Valley Lutheran, John Glenn, and Clio recording an record of 2-1 for the night. Valley Lutheran was the big winner with a perfect 3-0, Clio went 1-2 and John Glenn was 0-3 for the night.
The Falcons started the night with Valley Lutheran as the evening headliner close loss in the first set 23-25. The second set started right where the first set ended with a tight back and forth with Freeland finally closing out the set a with 26-24 win. Valley’s tenacious defense would make he difference in set three as they took the set, and match, 15-10.
The Falcons wouldn’t get discouraged as they took on John Glenn in the second match for them on the night. Freeland set the tone early and never looked back taking two straight sets 25-13, 25-15.
The final match of the night for Freeland would be against the Mustangs of Clio who has just come off a hard fought match against Valley Lutheran. Again the Falcons came out in control of set one with the score of 25-14. Freeland ended up closing out the night with final set against Clio 25-15
TheFalcons were lead tonight by senior Caitlinn Pistro with 17 kills, 7 aces, and 27 digs. Senior Elli Howard added 10 kills, 3 blocks, and 11 digs. Freshman Elizabeth Shea added 5 aces, 26 assists, and 7 digs. Other senior contributors tonight were Kadyn Blanchard with 4 blocks, 8 digs and 5 kills; Mady Rappley with 5 kills; and Allie Reams had 22 digs.
The Falcons are 18-6 on the season. Freeland will be back on the home court Wednesday as they take on the Panthers of Alma.
