Your Varsity Falcon soccer team went 1-1 this week losing at home to Garber 1-0 in a league class while defeating Birch Run on the Road 9-2 also in league action.

On Tuesday the boys fell 1-0 in a very tight match up against the Dukes of Garber in front of our home crowd.
The Falcons has their share of opportunities but just couldn’t convert to get even on the scoreboard.

On Thursday in Birch Run the game was a very different story however.

Taylor Armbruster scored a hat trick Thursday as Freeland secured a League victory over Birch Run, 9-2.

The Victory helped guide the Falcons to bolster their record to 6-4, 3-1 TVC.

Stephen Duggan, Luke Cairy, Noah Klopf and Matt Loeffler all added one goal apiece, and senior Alex Robbins added two goals.

Assisting on goals was Duggan with 4, while Matt Staley, Robbins, Cairy, Braden Traver, and Makaio Carter all had one a piece.

“We took our opportunities,” Coach Brandon Coleman said. “We were struggling to score and I was happy to see when it opened up. When it did, we took our opportunities.”

Goalkeeper Gavin Spaulding made six saves on eight shots on goal to keep Birch Run at bay.

The Falcons hit the road again on Monday at 4:30 to take on Standish-Sterling.
