Falcons News · Varsity Wrestling Finishes 2nd at Hemlock Invitational

The Freeland Wrestlers traveled to Hemlock this past Saturday for the first Invitational of the Season.  The Wrestlers turned the short trip into a long day for many of their opponents securing a 2nd place finish with 5 wrestlers making their way into the Championship matches.  The Falcons fell short of tournament Champion Mt Morris but left a gap of 39 points for the next closest finisher, Chesaning.  Five wrestlers brought home second place finishes, Alex Ventimiglia @ 112 lbs, Tyler Tomasek @ 125 lbs, Connor Williams @ 130 lbs, Coburn Lynch @ 160 lbs and Tobias Niedzwiecki @ 215 lbs.  Three more wrestlers finished in 3rd place, Nolan Van Loo @ 103 lbs, Trent Hulbert @ 145 lbs and Xavier Magyar @ 152 lbs.  Fifth place finishers were Jacob Ott @ 119 lbs and Hudson Armstrong @ 125 lbs and 6th place finishers were Zach Anderson @ 119 lbs and Jayson Lyons @ 140 lbs.  This was a great way to start what looks to be a promising season for the Falcon Wrestlers who will be traveling to Nouvel this Thursday to matchup up with Nouvel/ Valley Lutheran and Clare and then will be close to home again on Saturday at Heritage High School.
