In their first match after gaining sole possession of first place in the TVC, the Freeland girls showed they belong there with a convincing three set win over the Panthers 25-13, 25-9, 25-5.

The Falcons started slowly in the first set and found themselves tied 6-6 before the offense came around to secure the win.  In set two, Freeland jumped out quickly to a 10-1 lead behind the aggressive serving of Caitlin Pistro.  A Lauren Moon ace extended the lead to 19-5 before Freeland traded side-out to finish the set.

Freeland dominated set three and led 7-2 after a Caroline Talaga ace.  The lead would quickly grow to 21-5 behind a Kennedy Wale solo block. Noelle Duley’s precision jump serving ended the night for the Panthers.

The Falcons were led by Taylor Bakos with 8 kills, Bailey DeSander with 18 digs and Hannah Ruppel with 3 aces.  The 9thranked Falcons improve to 30-7-2 overall, 5-0 conference, Freeland will play host next Monday to Lapeer, MLS and Bay City Central at 5 PM.
