The Freeland girls golf team won their second tournament
of the year at the Byron Invitational Wednesday at Hunters Ridge GC in Byron MI.
Freeland came in 1st with a season low score of 346. Goodrich took second with a 470. Grace Pumford led the team and was the overall medalist for the day with a personal best 78, Olivia Pumford took 3rd overall with a 84, followed by Lily Beyer in 4th place with a 86. Alyssa Argyle shot 98 and Lydia Back shot 99.
We are really playing well at a great time of the year. The girls hard work and patience is really paying off and we are excited to compete against the best in the state. Freeland plays at in the Regional tournament next Wednesday, 10/11 at 9am at Heather Hills in Romeo MI. This will be an 18 hole tournament to see who goes to States the following weekend. The top three teams and the top three girls not on those three teams will qualify for States in East Lansing Oct 20-21st.
