Girls Middle School Track And Field, Girls Varsity Track · Girls Middle School Track Finished Strong at Mega-Meet


The middle school girls track team wrapped up the season last week with an impressive showing at the Mid Michigan MEGASTAR meet in Shepherd. There were representatives from 72 schools attending. The girls finished 5th overall. Kirsten Spegel broke her own school record in the shot put with a toss of 39 feet 9.5 inches. That was good enough for first place. Larkin Wegner finished 4th with a toss of 36 feet 4.5 inches. The following girls also medaled in their events; Molly Hemgesberg in the 70m dash, 4×100 relay team of Karsyn Kasper, Molly Hemgesberg, Kaela Gregory and Megan Reimer, Whitney Farrell in the 800. Congratulations to all that qualified for the MEGASTAR meet.
For the year, the were 3 new school records set. Kirsten Spegel in the shot put (39’9.5), Molly Hemgesberg in the pole Vault (7 feet 7 inches) and the 4×100 team of Karsyn Kasper, Megan Reimer, Molly Hemgesberg and Kaela Gregory (53.2). Congratulations to the record breakers and to the entire team on such a successful season.
