Game Recap

The FNV Griffins (13-10) defeated the Ann Arbor Huron River Rats Friday evening 3-1. Kenny Kujawa opened the scoring in the 1st period on a deflection from a Ben Menapace shot to give the Griffins a lead going in to the 1st Intermission. A back and forth 2nd period saw the River Rats tie the game up going in to the 3rd period. FNV controlled the 3rd period out shooting AA-Huron 15-3 in the 3rd period, and saw JohnPaul Lefevre put in a rebound what was to be the game winning goal. Sean Nowosatka rounded out the game as he scored his team leading 18th goal of the season off a rush, with a wrist shot past River Rat Goaltender Ethan St. Pierre. Kujawa, Nowosatka and Alec Kaleyta all picked up an assist, and Jordan Tafel made 14 saves in the win. FNV is back in action Saturday night as they take on rival Swan Valley Titans at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena at 7PM, for their last home game of the season. Students are free of admission, so come out and support your Griffins.
